Listen Longer
Our Listen Longer project aims to create a space for constructive conversations, as well as to foster important connections and support between youth and trusted adults, facilitating a more secure and informed community. Our focus is on open communication, creating a safe space for discussion, and strengthening protective factors for the well being of our community.
Listen Longer is anexperiential installation that will be built in Chipeta Park during July 2025. It is essentially two chairs that face each other and have a QR code linked to multiple sets of questions that aim to establish meaningful connections between participants.
We also know that issues that often plague our youth are things that adults in rural communities can struggle with too. This is why we want to emphasize that these chairs are for the use of everybody. They are built by youth, to be shared, experienced, and respected by everyone. Protective factors work for everybody and it is never too late to start building that protective muscle and strive for happiness and connection.
